Almost as insane as my love for The Bachelor/Bachelorette, is The Husband’s love of the Star Wars movies. The original movies, obviously – not the more recent ones. We have been waiting for my older nephews to be of an appropriate age where we could show them these movies and they would make it through without a) crying b) falling asleep c) telling us they are bored and begging for us to watch something else. That time came this past Saturday night. We dressed up in costume, made our Wookie Cookies (actually, my sister made them) and we watched the original first movie. To our complete delight, both boys loved it. Ryan, the 7 year old, actually started sweating during the last 30 minutes of the movie – that’s how into it he got. Jonah, the 8 year old, also was into it, asking no less than 75 questions, but still enjoying the whole experience. Both can not wait to see “The Empire Strikes Back.” Jonah and Ryan’s younger twin brothers, also enjoyed the experience, though they were put to bed before the movie started.
Here are some pictures from the night:

Husband is one big kid. Does he collect the Hallmark ornaments? I have a neat Darth Vader that plugs into a string of lights socket and has authentic sound.

What a fun auntie and uncle you two are! Nice recycling of one of the wedding dresses, too. I am glad you didn't traumatize the kids with the Princess Leia in the metal bikini for their first viewing. Did you and the husband go and see Carrie Fisher's Broadway show, Wishful Drinking?

Husband: No link. Every year Hallmark comes out with their new ornaments in July and October. I thought the Darth Vader was a plug-in to Christmas lights. The (2) that plug in are Wizard of Oz and Snow White. Darth stands alone about 5" tall – push a button and he says "I am your father". I have a Chewbacca with C-3PO on his back, Qui-Gon Jinn, and an 8" Leia that rotates bought on sale somewhere. When the movie first came out I drove through a snow storm to get all the characters from a toy store. Like most toys, they're gone. Hallmark was out of the C-3PO several years ago.
At Hallmark I collect Harleys, trains, Barbies, anything Peanuts-related, have Marilyn in Pink Dress that I heard yesterday was for sale, Scarlett O'Hara, lots of Star Trek. etc. etc. I even have "Frodo" Stacey mentioned Derek resembles?
Do you go to George Lucas business in SF for stuff?

Husband: While looking at Stacey's Blog I discovered a couple sites for earlier Hallmark releases. Thanks to your inquiry about the Darth Vader, now I know where I can find some. Sites are not listed this minute, but on "The Ornament Factory" you will see 2005 Darth Vader QX16185 who says, "Luke, I am your father".
